Sona Hovsepyan comes from a family of musicians; she studied piano from an early age and is a graduate of the Djirbashian Academy of Music / Romanos Melikian Music College. She received an M.A. from Komitas State Conservatory of Music in Yerevan, Armenia.

 

Based in Toronto, Canada since 2007, Sona has established herself as a masterful mezzo soprano, comfortable in many genres, including opera, recital, and liturgical. She is a much sought after and loved musician, known for her moving solo performances in concerts and festivals, as a conductor of children's choirs, and as a teacher of piano and voice for all ages.
